Poppy seed perogy are traditionally served for Christmas Eve dinner. However, these sweet and delicious dumplings can be enjoyed at any time throughout the year. The poppy seed is a symbol of wealth, prosperity and fertility and the eating of poppy seed perogy on Christmas Eve is supposed to bring happiness to the family for the upcoming year.
