Cherry Cheese Wonton Pops
These cherry cheese wonton pops are easy and delicious. They are a great last minute sweet treat or dessert that you can easily make with things you have in your pantry, very likely. You will need to buy wonton wrappers (I don’t recommend making them for this treat), but that’s really the only non standard ingredient.
When go for Chinese food, the deep fried wontons with the sweet red sauce is always one thing I shamefully load on my plate. These sweet cream cheese and fruit filled wontons are just as delicious but maybe a bit healthier….I did say maybe.
If you are searching for wonton wrappers at your local grocery store, look in the produce section. I don’t know why, but in my neighborhood stores that’s where they are. I recently sent my husband to pick some up and he ended up doing loops trying to locate them. When he called and said he couldn’t find them, I realized I forgot to tell him this helpful hint. He went back to the produce section and of course there they were.
These sweet little pops are super cute, and sinfully easy to make. Get the kids involved, but make sure the wontons are sealed properly before you fry them or they will explode and dirty your oil.
Let them cool for a couple of minutes before digging in. I know it is hard to resist such sweet treats, but try just for a second. No one wants a burnt mouth.
