The Best Cream Cheese Frosting
This sweet yet tangy cream cheese frosting is so simple to make. It is creamy, smooth and not too sweet (for a frosting). Use it to top cinnamon buns or to ice a carrot cake. If you want a thicker icing for piping then just add an additional 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar to stiffen it a bit. This frosting comes together quickly with only five ingredients you likely have on hand already,.
Make sure your butter and cream cheese are at room temperature before you begin, otherwise you could end up with lumps of butter or cheese in the frosting, and let’s face it, no one wants that. The other important thing to remember is to use full fat block style cream cheese, not spreadable cream cheese, which will yield a runny frosting.
